Daytrippers Children's Charity

Daytrippers – www.daytrippers.org - will receive 20% of the funds raised this year.

Daytrippers is a non-profit children's charity managed entirely through the volunteer work of young professionals and students wanting to give back to the community. We raise funds for school trips to recognized educational and cultural institutions for children in grades 1 to 8 from lower-income and far-reaching areas.

Through Daytrippers, inner city children have seen their first forest, children from rural communities have visited their first museum (and a few have seen their first escalator!), and children with special needs have felt accepted by their classmates by accompanying them on school trips for the first time.

Since its inception eight years ago, Daytrippers has raised nearly $500,000 and sent approximately 38,000 children on school trips. Daytrippers supports students primarily from school boards across Ontario, but has also expanded to Quebec, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. We are extremely proud of our efficiency ratio: since inception, more than 95 cents of every dollar raised was reserved for trip expenses.
