Bay Street Hoops Youth Basketball

Bay Street Hoops Youth Basketball Initiative will receive 20% of funds raised in 2009.

The Bay Street Hoops Youth Basketball Initiative is a new project developed by the organizers of the Bay Street Hoops tournament. We are working with community leaders, the City of Toronto and the OBA to identify grass roots youth basketball programs operating in at-risk neighbourhoods. We are sharing best practices among these organizations and helping to fund the expansion of the most effective programs.

The goal is to help develop viable long-term basketball programs for grade-school-aged youth in at-risk neighbourhoods. These programs will help the young people develop basketball skills and create a stronger basketball community throughout Toronto. They will provide the youth with a valuable recreation program that is linked to mentorship, tutoring and community support.
